Melissa Keil is a talented Australian writer is the author of The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl which made the Inky Awards 2015 shortlist.

On top of this, she has also written several other books, such as life in outer space, rabbit’s year, and the secret science of magic, a personal favourite of mine, and coincidentally the book I’m raving about today!

It’s the perfect blend of romance (for people who still adjusting to romance), humour and friendship.

It’s an up and down roller coaster of highs and lows where Sophia (the main character) is stretched to her limits, (temporarily) loses her best and only friend, reconnects with her brother, and finds a love interest, exciting stuff!

She’s smart, like genius-calculator-brain smart, but there are some things no amount of genius can prepare you for, and the messiness of real life is one of them. When everything she knows is falling apart, how can she crack the puzzle of what to do with her life?
He spends his time honing magic tricks and planning how best to win Sophia’s heart. But when your best trick is making homework disappear how do you possibly romance a genius?

If you couldn’t already tell Sophia’s already complicated life does not need a boyfriend, but she agrees to go out to a party with him and a bunch of people she doesn’t know anyway (this is a big deal because she won’t even go out with her best friend because of her social anxiety).

She meets him at his house and the night flies by until she kisses him, freaks out and runs away.

But enough spoilers already, GO READ THE BOOK!
