SRC Club Website – LIVE

The themed children’s activity or SRC Club website launched on 31 October, 2016.

The SRC Club Website is an additional resource to support library summer reading club programs. It also provides an opportunity to extend SRC programming into homes, support connections to literature and provide exposure to Australian authors and illustrators.

Highlights in this year’s online activities include blogs with Australian Children’s Laureate Leigh Hobbs and popular children’s author Deborah Abela, and features a What Happen’s next story starter from Mick Elliot (The Turners)

In the Celebrity Corner, children can meet and read creative tips from 21 new Australian authors and illustrators, and read chapter excerpts from their newly released titles.

Other activities include downloadable Great Reads reading lists (preschool, primary and secondary), colouring sheets, a short story free-write competition, two quizzes sponsored by Britannica Library and the opportunity to log books, post book raves and submit artwork to the SRC Gallery.

We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the SRC Club website, incorporate it into your programs and encourage your young patrons to participate in and post to the online activities.

All online activities will run from 1 December 2016 through 31 January 2017.

P.S. Don’t forget to click on the HIDE button next to the Gallery tab to see this year’s animation.

Note: Children of library staff are not excluded and are eligible to participate in all the online competitions. We hope you will encourage them to do so!
