What is the Summer Reading Club about?
Reading is an essential skill for everyone. It is the vital foundation of a child’s learning and engagement in their school years and for life.

The Summer Reading Club is about discovering great authors and illustrators of picture books, junior and young adult fiction and non-fiction. Literary and creative activities, both online and in local public libraries, aim to encourage a love of reading and ongoing multi-literacy skills development among children, young people and their families.
The Summer Reading Club consists of two elements:

A library-based program of fun activities in your local library and activity booklets for children aged birth to 16 years.

an interactive website that provides fun and engaging online activities such as online chats, book raves, stories to complete, competitions, games, recommended reading lists and websites for children and their families.
